The holiday season is full of activity, from shopping trips, and seasonal activities, to family gatherings. It's important to stop and take a minute to truly think about the spirit of the season: giving back in whatever way we can, and showing love to others.
Why not consider giving a gift that is unique and gives back from the 2017 World Vision Gift Catalog?
You can choose a gift that not only puts a smile on someone's face, but truly makes a difference in someone's life.
We have pooled our resources with extended family in the past to buy a gift from the catalog. It's a great way to teach our kids that Christmas isn't just about receiving, but also about giving to those who are less fortunate than they are.
The 22nd annual edition of the 2017 World Vision Gift Catalog contains 100 meaningful gifts and more than 250 items online raging in price. More than 30 gifts in the catalog are $40 or less, including items like chickens, job training or school supplies.
World Vision provides assistance to people in nearly 100 countries. The World Vision Gift Catalog is one of many programs designed to help eradicate poverty and provide hope around the world.

We received a sample box of beautifully hand-crafted items from the catalog including jewelry and accessories. Each is a lovely quality piece, many of which will be a beautiful addition to any wardrobe! And I love the soapstone box from Africa; it's pretty, delicate (though heavier than it looks) and perfect for storing earrings, small hair accessories or other little keepsakes.
The Heaton Hope Bracelet ($100) – This year, everyone’s favorite TV mom, Patricia Heaton, has partnered with World Vision to design the Patricia Heaton Hope Bracelet. The name was purposely chosen to encourage people to feel hopeful about our world and to give hope, through generosity, to those in need.
Vietnamese Tote ($100) – Disabled Vietnamese women gain independence by creating these beautiful hand-embroidered purses.
African Soapstone Box ($85) – Talented artisans bring raw stone to life with etched designs and hand dyed finishes that showcase modern African creativity and provide a sustainable way out of poverty.
Charm Necklace($100)– Made by a gold and silver plating specialist in India, the unique and elegant charms make this necklace a subtle statement piece.
Infinity Scarf ($75) – This fashion-forward accessory is made by artisans in India who are trained in the loom industry to attain skills and a sustainable livelihood.
Wraparound Ring ($55) – A vibrant, adjustable ring with aqua and blue chalcedony stones set in metal, made by female artisans in India. Many of these items can be used as hostess gifts at parties, teacher gifts, or for family and friends.
There are so many ways that you can make a difference this holiday season. Consider impacting a life by choosing a gift from the 2017 World Vision Gift Catalog.
