I received a NKJV Airship Genesis Kids Study Bible plus themed items for review as a Tommy Mommy Blogger. This post contains affiliate links.
The holiday season is in full swing and you may be looking at a long gift list for your loved ones. If you have a child ages 7-11 on your list, a Bible is a great gift idea. I've been looking for my daughter's first kids Bible and found out about a new kids Study Bible geared toward that age group called the NKJV Airship Genesis Kids Study Bible by David Jeremiah.
David Jeremiah is the founder of Turning Point, an international ministry committed to providing Christians with sound Bible teaching through radio and television, the Internet, live events, and resource materials and books. He is the author of more than fifty books including Captured by Grace, Angels—Who They Are and How They Help, What in the World Is Going On?, and Agents of the Apocalypse.
What makes this Bible different from other kids Bibles is the themed characters called the Genesis Exploration Squad. These five explorers (and 2 other special members a robot and a monkey) make it their mission to learn all about the Bible and its history.
They embark on these missions on the Airship Genesis which is sort of like a time machine that can take them back through Biblical history. Kids can join the squad on their adventures in reading the Bible through the extra features and interactive website.
“With a new generation rising up, we have the chance to leave a legacy of great inheritance. Airship Genesis: Legendary Bible Adventure means giving our children the truth of God’s Word with the creative content and quality they deserve.”
—Dr. David Jeremiah
The extra features to this New King James Version® include:
These extra features help kids understand the Bible more on their level. They also open up great discussions with parents. If your children are more visual learners (like I am), the illustrations and maps are super helpful!
We were also sent a drawstring bag, an Airship Genesis iron-on patch, a poster and a water bottle. These make great gifts to go along with the Bible for your child to enjoy. Hopefully there will be more themed merchandise in the near future.
I am already a huge fan of the Airship Genesis website. It has monthly audio episodes of the squad's Bible missions, hands-on activities, and downloadable Mission Guides. The mission theme (and cartoon characters) is appealing to both boys and girls. My daughter's favorite is the monkey. She is hoping that these audio episodes will translate to an animated series and games!
While my daughter is a little younger than the recommended age level, I know this is a Bible that she will be able to use for many years as she becomes an independent reader.
This is a wonderful Bible that makes learning the Bible interesting and fun. It would make a great gift this holiday for children ages 7-11.
