We received The Peanuts Movie party items as a Fox Insider. All opinions and The Peanuts Movie love are ours.
If you've been a reader of this blog for a while, you know how much we love family movie night! I was beyond excited for The Peanuts Movie to release to Blu-ray and DVD. AK had a daddy/daughter night to see it when it was in theaters, but this was my first time watching.
Fox Home Entertainment sent us some incredible goodies (along with The Peanuts Movie special edition set) including Peanuts gang toys, baseballs, a kite, Charlie Brown t-shirts, aviator hats, and some fun snacks from Horizon organic and Pez. Plus they included some All detergent in case we ended up needing some clean up like Pig Pen!
My oldest loves to help in the kitchen, so we decided to make some Peanuts movie inspired treats. I found lots of ideas on Pinterest and chose Charlie Brown Rice Krispies Treats. These were simple to make and AK loved helping! And I found the recipe right on the cereal box so it was easy peasy.
Charlie Brown Rice Krispies Treats
Supplies:
6 cups of Kelloggs Rice Krispies cereal
1 10 oz bag of mini marshmallows
3 tablespoons of Butter/Margarine
1 container of yellow icing
1-2 tubes of black writing gel
1. Melt the butter/margarine in a large saucepan over low heat. Add the marshmallows and rice krispies and stir.
2. Spray a large pan with cooking spray. Use a spatula to press the mixture into the pan.
3. Wait for the Rice Krispies treats to cool. Then spread the yellow icing over evenly.
4. Cut the treats into squares of desired size. Use the icing tube to make the chevron pattern across the square.
While we watched The Peanuts Movie, we munched on our snacks and used our fun drinking cups. The girls tried on their aviator hats too. AB didn't have a very good nap, so she was not a happy camper (you can see her crocodile tears in the photo). AK was on the cranky side too, but she cheered up as the sugar kicked in.
The animation in the film was so much better than the Peanuts gang I saw growing up! Snoopy was just as adorable as ever, if not more endearing. That laugh just cracks me up!
AK said that this was the "best day ever". The Peanuts Movie ranks up there on my list of top family movies to watch!

Don't forget to download The Peanuts Movie printables for the kiddos! They are great for home movie nights or rainy days!
