I received a copy of Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day for review purposes. All opinions are my own.
We are excited for the release of Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day on Digital HD, Blu-ray/DVD, and Disney Movies Anywhere on Demand this week (Feb. 10th)!
I love the book, so I was thrilled that they were turning it into a movie for the whole family in Disney style! Sometimes books don't always translate to great movies. But in this case, I think they captured the spirit of the book and turned it into a movie that will entertain people of all ages.

Disney’s heartwarming comedy will have your entire family laughing out loud. Based on
the best-selling book, it follows the exploits of Alexander as he experiences
the most terrible and horrible day of his young life and wonders if bad things
only happen to him. But he discovers
he’s not alone when his dad (Steve Carell), mom (Jennifer Garner) and family live
through their own terrible – and hilarious – day. It will tickle everyone’s
funny bone, and warm their hearts as they discover how even on rotten days,
families can grow closer.
The film stars Steve Carell (Crazy, Stupid, Love, TV's The Office) as Ben Cooper, Jennifer Garner (Dallas Buyer's Club, TV's Alias) as Kelly Cooper and Ed Oxenbould (Paper Planes) as Alexander Cooper.
The home entertainment release is also packed with hilarious bonus features.

We all have bad days and can probably relate to Alexander's feelings of "my day is worse than everybody else's." It's easy to look at our circumstances and think that somebody has it better than we do. Alexander makes a wish that his family could understand what it's like to have his bad days for once. And that's when all kinds of things happen!

Steve Carell is pretty funny, especially as a temporary stay-at-home dad who goes to Mommy & Me Yoga. And I adore Jennifer Garner, so I absolutely loved her in the mom role! My family could really relate to this movie since we have kids with a large age gap, including a baby and a teenager like Alexander's family. It was pretty spot on showing how the kids were dealing with their own issues at school while parents were dealing with the daily juggle of parenting roles and jobs. And it has a great message: families stick together during the hard times and can turn bad days into something positive. And I think that this quote from the movie is very true: "You gotta have the bad days so you can love the good days."
