Disney's Zootopia Free Holiday Printables #Disney #Zootopia

12/18/15
Can you believe that 2016 is almost here?  This past year was a great one for movies, and I'm sure that 2016 will be just as exciting!  One of a number of films slated for the near year is Disney's Zootopia is coming to theaters March 4, 2016.

Zootopia

Here's a little more about the movie:

The modern mammal metropolis of Zootopia is a city like no other. Comprised of habitat neighborhoods like ritzy Sahara Square and frigid Tundratown, it’s a melting pot where animals from every environment live together—a place where no matter what you are, from the biggest elephant to the smallest shrew, you can be anything.

But when rookie Officer Judy Hopps (voice of Ginnifer Goodwin) arrives, she discovers that being the first bunny on a police force of big, tough animals isn’t so easy. Determined to prove herself, she jumps at the opportunity to crack a case, even if it means partnering with a fast-talking, scam-artist fox, Nick Wilde (voice of Jason Bateman), to solve the mystery. Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Zootopia,” a comedy-adventure directed by Byron Howard (“Tangled,” “Bolt”) and Rich Moore (“Wreck-It Ralph,” “The Simpsons”) and co-directed by Jared Bush (“Penn Zero: Part-Time Hero”).

This looks like a cute movie that I know my five year old daughter is going to be asking to see!

To get your kids excited about the upcoming movie, here are some fun holiday character ornaments, gift tags and snow flake patterns you can print at home.  Plus you can print a Party Animal pack for your New Year's celebrations with the munchkins!

Happy Holidays!

Can't get enough Zootopia?

movie review

Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials is now available on Digital HD December 4th, and Blu-ray™ and DVD December 15thIf you were wondering what happens next in the Maze Runner series, wait til you see The Scorch Trials!

The Maze was just the beginning. After the harrowing adventure of escaping the maze, the Gladers find themselves right in the center of an epic mystery in MAZE RUNNER: THE SCORCH TRIALS.  There’s more action, more excitement and more spectacular effects in this thrilling new chapter of the epic Maze Runner saga by James Dashner.

They may have escaped from the Maze, but Thomas (Dylan O’Brien) and his fellow Gladers now face a greater challenge: searching for clues about the secret organization known as WCKD. Their journey leads them to the Scorch, a desolate wasteland filled with unimaginable dangers.  The mystery deepens at every turn as the Gladers work together to discover their purpose and battle to survive in this must-see, electrifying adventure!

Maze Runner The Scorch Trials

Real Gladers are in line for the greatest of presents this winter, as the MAZE RUNNER: THE SCORCH TRIALS Ultimate Fan Edition on Blu-ray includes an exclusive, 24-page printed comic-book with two new prequel stories from BOOM! Comics.  In addition, two hours of thrilling bonus content, including deleted and extended scenes will take fans further behind-the-scenes of the suspense and action-packed journey through the Scorch and more!

James Dashner

I recently participated in a twitter online screening with author James Dashner.   It was wonderful to hear his thoughts about the movie and to see how it differs from his novel!

Trivia

While I haven't read the books, I have enjoyed both movies so far in the series.  You will definitely want to get your small children to bed before watching.  It's PG 13 with some scenes with zombie-like people that will be scary for kids.  For your older teens, the action-packed film will keep them on the edge of their seats!

Movie Guide

Maze Runner fans will enjoy the extended and deleted scenes on the bonus features.  They give more insight into the story line.

This is definitely a must-have gift for fans!

PBS Kids Holiday Toy Collection at Whole Foods {Holiday Gift Guide} #sponsored #holidaygiftguide

12/10/15
I received PBS Kids holiday toys for review purposes.  All opinions are my own.

We watch PBS Kids on a daily basis because of their great programming and commitment to children's education.  This holiday, PBS Kids has launched a new holiday toy collection of safe, sustainable and educational toys, including PlanToys, for children ages 1 to 5

PBS Kids holiday toys at Whole Foods Markets

Like their excellent programming, these toys inspire creativity and imaginative play.  Plus they are made using responsibly-sourced materials.  Here is more info from their press release:

PlanToys® uses every piece of wood—down to the shavings on the factory floor—from rubber trees that are felled past their prime. These wooden toys are assembled using certified formaldehyde-free E-zero glue in place of traditional wood glue, and do not use chemical dyes containing lead or other heavy metals. Additionally, PlanToys® sources all materials within a 40-mile radius of its factory, which runs on bioenergy.

I am a big supporter of companies that give back, and PBS is no exception.  One hundred percent of net proceeds will support PBS Kids' mission to empower children to succeed in school and life.  And Whole Foods Market will donate 1% of total sales, up to $25,000 to Whole Kids Foundation, which is dedicated to improving children's wellness and nutrition.

“Our partnership with Whole Foods Market allows us to provide families a diverse array of resources that foster play, which is essential to a child’s learning and healthy development,” said Lesli Rotenberg, General Manager of Children’s Media at PBS. “Along with PlanToys®, PBS KIDS is proud to offer holiday gift-givers a meaningful toy option that is safe, educational and fun.”

This year's collection features a variety of classic wooden toys, many might describe as "old school" but I love their simplicity and how they encourage active play without batteries!  Some examples include a camera with a keleidoscope lens, colorful bath and water-play boats, fruit-shaped musical instruments, moving animal pull-toys, and mini golf and ring toss game sets.

PBS Kids Holiday toys at Whole Foods Markets

My two girls were excited to receive the Sailing Boat-Walrus and the Jumping frog pull toys!  Both girls love bath toys and the sailboat floats really well in the bath water.  My youngest likes to put toys in her mouth, so I have to be careful that she doesn't try to chew it {if she does at least I know these are are safe from harmful dyes or paints}.  The flag and the walrus both can be removed from the boat.

PBS Kids Sailing Boat Walrus Wooden Toy

AK likes to play with the jumping frog more than AB, since she hasn't quite figured out how to pull it behind her as she walks.  It reminds me of the old toys my grandparents had when we were little.  He "jumps" as you pull him across the floor.   It works really well on hard surface floors but can be pulled across carpet too.

PBS Kids Jumping Frog Wooden Toy

These toys make great gifts for the little ones in your life!

Where to Buy:

PBS Kids Shop and Whole Foods Markets nationwide $12.99 {Walrus Sailing Boat} and $19.99 {Jumping Frog}

Vandor Eco-friendly Bamboo Character Cups {Holiday Gift Guide} #sponsored #holidaygiftguide

12/8/15
I received Vandor Bamboo cups for review. This post contains affiliate links.  All opinions are my own.

My preschooler is a picky eater.  On any given day, every meal time is a struggle to get her to eat a variety of foods.  I will bend over backwards to find new ways to make meal time fun and interesting in the hopes that she will attempt to eat a healthy meal.

One of the ways I try to make meal times fun is by giving her cute plates, cups and utensils.  It's good to change things up now and then with her age group since she easily loses interest.

Vandor Bamboo My Little Pony Cups

We recently were introduced to Vandor LLC's eco-friendly Bamboo line of cups and plates featuring favorite licensed characters.    My preschooler adores My Little Pony  plus Mickey Mouse and was very excited to get these cup sets!   And she can share them with her baby sister who will be drinking out of a cup in no time.

Vandor Bamboo Disney Mickey Mouse & Friends Cups

These 10 oz. cups are just the right size for little hands.  They are made from bamboo and corn starch. Bamboo is a biodegradable, renewable resource that offers an environmentally friendly alternative to plastic.  And best of all, they are BPA free, break resistant, and dishwasher safe!  With little ones, those are very important features!   On one side is the character, and the other shows the logo.

Vandor Bamboo Cups

AK asks for her My Little Pony cups all the time.  I'm glad that she is able to use them to get water from the fridge all by herself now;  our larger glass cups were more difficult for her.   These make meal times fun and she is proud of becoming more independent.

Your kids will love all of the characters to choose from:  Star Wars, Disney's Mickey and Friends, My Little Pony, and Marvel Comics! AK already has the My Little Pony dinnerware set on her wish list.   These will make a great gift this holiday!

Where to Buy:

Vandor LLC My Little Pony Bamboo Cup sets and Mickey Mouse & Friends Bamboo Cup Sets are $20 and dinnerware sets are $24 at Amazon.

2015 World Vision Gift Catalog {Plus Giveaway} #GiftCatalog #sponsored

I received an item from the 2015 World Vision Gift Catalog for review purposes.  All opinions are my own.

Christmas is coming up before you know it!  If you're one of those last minute holiday shoppers and are looking for a unique gift, check out the 2015 World Vision Gift Catalog.

Amid the hustle and bustle of family gatherings, shopping for gifts, and making holiday memories, it's also so important to remember the true spirit of the season:  giving in whatever way we can and showing love to others.

You can choose a gift that not only puts a smile on someone's face, but truly makes a difference in someone's life.

We have pooled our resources as a family in the past to buy a gift from the catalog.  It's a great way to teach our kids that Christmas isn't just about receiving, but also about giving to those who are less fortunate than they are.

World Vision also provides donors the opportunity to give a gift in a loved one’s name (for the person who says they don't need anything).  Plus, it has the added bonus of saving you some time since you don't have to wrap it!

Here are a just a few of the great options in the catalog:
World Vision
Goats – World Vision offers donors a variety of livestock to choose from, and goats are their most popular option. One goat is a valuable source of milk and fertilizer for a family. The milk provides children with easy-to-digest protein and calcium, and the fertilizer helps crops flourish. A gift of two goats sets a family on a path towards success as shepherds who can start their own flock. $75 for one, $150 for two
World Vision
Fruit Trees – Even with all the sweets and treats the holiday season brings, it’s important to remember nature’s candy—and not just for the figgy pudding! Donating five, ten, or fifteen fruit trees can help a family feed itself and start a business. The seed of this gift can blossom for years as a few trees turns into groves and orchards full of good, healthy fruit. Partridges not included. $30 for five trees, $60 for ten, $90 for fifteen
World Vision
Soccer Balls – Every parent knows one of the best feelings in the world is seeing a child’s face light up like the Christmas tree as they discover what’s been left for them by Santa. Donors can pass that same joy along to kids across the world with their gift of soccer balls, which replace makeshift balls made of banana leaves or rolled-up trash. The global popularity of soccer makes this gift a great way to reach out with a helping hand. $16 for two balls, $32 for four, $48 for six
World Vision
Career Training for Girls & Women – Empower a woman with this investment in skills training, business education, and, most importantly, hope. With opportunities in weaving, jewelry-making, baking, dairy farming, and more, this gift helps create the chance for mothers and daughters to take their future into their own hands. It’s like they always say: Give a woman a fish, and you feed her for a day. Teach a woman to fish, and you can change the world. $25-$125
In addition to the gifts above, World Vision operates the Where Most Needed fund, which provides for improvements in the quality of life for struggling children and families in the U.S. and around the world. Donors to this fund are eligible to receive beautiful artisanal goods from Africa, India, and Southeast Asia, which make wonderful presents and stocking stuffers. Look at these beautiful handcrafted gifts: (click photo for additional information)

I received this beautiful hand-crafted Balinese multri-strand necklace.  It is 46" in length and each is unique.  I love the colors in this necklace; they just pop!

Balinese Multi-Strand Necklace

It comes in a pretty little jewelry gift bag too!

Balinese Multri-Strand Necklace

Since 1996, the World Vision Gift Catalog has grown in popularity as a gift-giving alternative. Last year alone, more than 822,000 people were helped through funds generated by the Catalog.  Isn't that wonderful?

Balinese Multri-Strand Necklace

There are so many ways that you can make a difference this holiday season.   Consider impacting a life by choosing a gift from the 2015 World Vision Gift Catalog.
