Dealyard Sunbeam Microplush Heated Throw Blanket #sponsored #holidaygiftguide

I received a Sunbeam Microplush heated blanket from Dealyard.com for review purposes.  No other compensation was received and all opinions are my own.

Winter weather in Maryland varies from a warm 60 degrees and plunging to frigid temperatures with snow.  Since you can be wearing shorts one day and bundling up in sweats on another, you have to be prepared for anything, especially the cold.

We have one room in the house that is especially cold in winter:  our family room.  There's little insulation {it was an addition to the house} and old windows.  Even with a space heater in the room, it can be chilly {and we try not to use the space heater too much to save on the electric bill}. My favorite way to keep toasty is to cuddle up with a throw blanket.  They are easy to store and portable; everyone in the family has one.

When I was asked to review an electric throw from Dealyard.com, I was excited to try it out!  I've never used an electric blanket and it sounded like an even better solution to our chilly room problem.

The Sunbeam Micropush Heated Throw is soft and cuddly as a throw should be.  I chose the rich Garnet Red color so that the "blanket stealers" in the family wouldn't find it too girly.  The site has several color options for men or women.

This feels a bit heavier than a regular throw because of the cords built in.  The size is great for someone who is shorter like me.  I'm 5'4" and this covers from my toes up to almost my shoulders if I'm stretched out.  My husband is 6' tall so it doesn't go up as high on him. {If you have a taller person in your family who wants full body coverage, I'd recommend getting the actual blanket and not a throw}

There are 3 heat settings for your comfort level.  It heats fairly quickly once plugged in and the cord is a decent size.  I really like that it has a 3 hour timer so it will automatically shut off if you fall asleep and forget that it's on {which in all likelihood may happen since that warm snuggly feeling puts me to sleep}.

I love how it keeps me toasty warm, especially my feet.  I hate having cold feet in the winter!  My kids have already tried to "steal" this from my husband and me.  It's definitely a favorite in our cold family room!

Another great bonus of the heated throw is not having to have the space heater cranked up.  I think it uses less energy than the space heater on high during the evenings, which will hopefully be more cost effective for our electric bill.

The Sunbeam Microplush Heated throw makes a great gift to keep your loved ones warm this holiday season!
