Spring break is almost here and we are looking forward to the time off before the end of the school year craziness. We are huge fans of Medieval Times {especially my teen}, so the guys were able to catch the latest show at the castle in Hanover at Arundel Mills as a special spring break treat.
It's always a good idea to arrive at least a half an hour early, as Arundel Mills is pretty hectic and parking can be tricky at different times of the day {especially weekends}. My hubby likes to park in the garage.
When you arrive at the castle, you're greeted with a crown, a laminated card that designates your section, and you can have your photo taken with a character from the show. {I suggest you take a before-the-show selfie too} There are souvenirs, weapons displays, and other fun decor to check out or you can grab a drink while you wait.
The guys had royalty seats, which were really close to the action, and received a commemorative program, behind-the-scenes DVD, and a yellow flag to cheer on the yellow knight. If you have the chance to upgrade, the closer seats are definitely worth it {though be warned if you have asthma, the dry ice effects might make you want to sit a little further away}.
During the show, they served blood red "Dragon soup", chicken, roasted potatoes, ribs, and an apple turnover for dessert. You are allowed two servings of drink {pepsi or water} along with your meal which is served in courses. It's hot, fresh, and there is plenty of food to fill your tummy. And of course, you have to eat it with your hands {no utensils allowed}. The server was excellent, cheerful, and even posed for a photo.
The show is always full of action, with beautiful horses, a hawk trainer, and lots of cheering and screaming for your designated knight. {Though we haven't seen our designated knight win yet, it's fun to cheer them on} And of course there is the usual bad guy and a beautiful princess which will appeal to both guys and girls.
There's something for everyone at Medieval Times, and we're never disappointed. The guys were thoroughly entertained and can't wait to go back!
