As a Little Tikes Ambassador, I received a Cupcake Kitchen to review. All opinions are my own.
My daughter is at the age where her imagination has really started to come alive. She likes to play "house" and copy what mommy does during the day including washing dishes, making dinner, and cleaning up. I love watching her play and hearing the fun conversations she comes up with! And I am a fan of toys that inspire creativity, imagination, and are fully kid powered.
We received the Little Tikes Cupcake Kitchen to test out. It arrived in its original box which reveals the contents, so my daughter immediately knew what it was (that's important to know if you're trying to surprise your little one). She couldn't wait until her daddy got home to put it together!
Once you have all the parts sorted out, it only takes about 10-15 minutes to assemble. (You'll need a screwdriver) I was surprised that all those pieces were literally a snap!
This kitchen is great for smaller spaces and can fit up against the wall or in a corner. Right now, it's the perfect height for her to easily play and have room for a friend (she is almost three).
The front side features the oven with a storage drawer above, two burners on the side, a sink, and a storage shelf with two dish slots.
The knob for the burner makes a fun cranking sound which will intrigue young toddlers and preschoolers alike.
Accessories include: one cupcake tray, a pot & lid, 1 spatula, 2 plates, 2 forks, 2 spoons, 2 knives, 2 sprinkle shakers and 4 cupcakes.
The Attic Baby discovered right away that the drawer comes completely out. She enjoyed seeing how much she could stuff in there and still close the drawer (it holds quite a bit of utensils).
But her favorite part was pretending to bake cupcakes. She loves those sweet little treats and was excited to "make" her own! The cupcakes come out of the little tray individually. She spent a lot of time taking them in and out of the tray and putting them back into the oven.
I had to explain to her what the little shakers were for. It would be fun if they made some kind of shaking noise or were see-through and had little pretend sprinkles inside instead of stickers. That would definitely add to the excitement of being a little baker!
When we have a friend come to play, it gets a bit tricky because there is only one cupcake tray. It would be nice to have two cupcake trays so there isn't any arguing (though it can make for some good lessons on sharing and taking turns).
Overall, my daughter loves the Little Tikes Cupcake kitchen! It is hours of fun and entertaining play time.
