Visit to The American Girl Store Tyson's Corner Center {Wordful Wednesday}

This past week while my mom was in town for a visit, we drove down to Tyson's Corner Center mall in Virginia to check out the American Girl store.   I've heard a lot about American Girl over the years and have been anticipating having a little girl with which to share my love of dolls.  Having my mom along with us was just the icing on the cake!

When you enter, you can't help but feel like a kid in a candy store.  There are doll displays everywhere!  We entered on the second floor by the historical characters.  I personally love those and the books that make history more exciting for girls!

The second floor also has a book store and the American Girl Bistro.  My mom & I are hoping to have lunch there when The Attic Baby's a little older and can better appreciate the experience.  The highchairs for the dolls are so cute!   They recommend making a reservation, as it fills up fast.  We came when the store first opened so it was pretty quiet for a bit.

After browsing through lots of fun displays, we headed down the elevator to the first floor.  Our objective was to check out the Bitty Babies and the Bitty Twins.

We've applied to host an American Girl Bitty Baby Party through Host Party and have had a bit of "Bitty Baby" fever ever since.  But who wouldn't after seeing these cutie pies?

The first floor also has the Doll Hair Salon.  Pampering for your dolls...what will they think of next?

There is also a station where you can design a T-Shirt for your doll.  But my favorite is the "doll and me" section where you can find an outfit to match your doll's {though very pricey}.

I don't know who was more excited to be at the American Girl store; my mom & I or The Attic Baby!  We could have spent a few hours in there, but I think my son & hubby would have been very restless waiting for us.

As a special early Christmas gift, my mom purchased this Bitty Twin for little miss.  It was love at first sight!  We're hoping that she'll be able to throw a Bitty Baby tea party so her Bitty Twin will have company and make new friends!

Disclaimer:  We love American Girl and were not paid or asked to post about our experience.

  1. I've never been to an American Girl store. Looks pretty interesting.

  2. We;ve only ever been to the NYC location. I had no idea there was a VA store now. Good to know for when I go up and visit my mom.

  3. That looks like fun! We've never been to one!

  4. I cannot WAIT until my daughter is old enough to go to the AG store.

  5. Thank you so much for joining me for the What I wrote Link Party. I was so excited when I heard there was an American Girl store at Tysons' Corner... and I don't even have a little girl! I was a big fan of the Felicity books (though I think she was retired from there collection). Your beautiful girl looks so absolutely happy with her early Christmas present. Looks like you had a wonderful visit (and glad you got to share it with your mom too)!
