We have a variety of sippy cups on hand at any given time in our house. They are great for reducing spills and stains on the carpet or furniture. As my daughter grows, I know she will need to transition to a cup. The Nuby Insulated Cool Sipper is a great transition cup for us right now.
It has a No-Spill™ Touch-Flo valve that opens for drinking and closes when the pressure is released to ensure its leak resistance. It took a little bit for my daughter to figure out that it worked a bit differently from her other sippies, but eventually she figured out how to sip from it.
I like that it has a soft spout that doesn't bother her when she's teething. I also like that its insulation keeps her drinks cold for a longer period, making it convenient to take in the car for long drives or to the park to play. That is a big plus, since the non-insulated sippy cups don't stay cold as long. It also has a convenient spot to write your child's name making it easily identifiable when you bring it along to church, daycare or play dates.
There is a small down side: it's hand-wash only. And if you don't screw the lid on just right and tightly enough, it can leak out the sides of the lid. If you don't mind hand-washing after every use, it's a great transition cup. I alternate between my hand-wash and dishwasher safe sippy cups during the week to save time.
This cup is recommended for 15 months+. You can find the Nuby No Spill Insulated Cool Sipper 2 pack at BuyBabyDirect for $8.99.
