Vicks DayQuil & NyQuil Relief When Mom Can't Take a Sick Day #spon

In the words of my favorite author Jane Austen, "It is a truth universally acknowledged"... that when a mom gets sick, she cannot take a sick day.

Am I right?   Even when mom feels at her worst, as a manager of the home, she must keep going.    There are meals to prepare, kids to take care of, laundry to do, and so forth and so on.

I try to take vitamins, stay hydrated, practice lots of hand washing, and make sure that surfaces that are touched often are cleaned frequently.    That and I bring baby wipes or hand sanitizer with me when I go out to help prevent picking up germs.  But as we try to stay healthy, germs sometimes get the best of us.

Cold and flu season can be a nightmare.  If one person in the house gets sick, it's inevitable that it will spread to someone else too.  And at the worst possible moment.

For example, my hubby recently had to go on a business trip for work.  He had just gotten over a nasty cold that he and my daughter shared for a couple of weeks.  And wouldn't you know it, I caught it the day before he left.

I was miserable with the cycle of runny nose, sneezing, coughing, and then congestion and sinus pressure.  All I wanted to do was crawl in bed and put a blanket over my head for the day.  But I couldn't; I had a two year old to care for all day.   And we don't have family that lives close by for moments like this.

When I was feeling at my worst, Vicks DayQuil helped me power through diaper changing, meal prep, and cleaning up after my daughter. And at nighttime,Vicks NyQuil helped me get some much-needed sleep.

Both helped ease my worst cold symptoms of aches, fever, sore throat, stuffy head and cough.  I couldn't have gotten through those miserable three days of hubby's trip without it.

As moms, we tend to put our family's needs and health before our own.   Knowing that you can't take a sick day from being a mom,  what are some things you do to help prevent yourself from getting sick?
