Celebrate Hogmanay with Disney Pixar's BRAVE

Do you celebrate the New Year at home with your kids?   The past couple of years we have stayed at home and just watched the ball drop on t.v.  We're pretty low key with a tot at home.

If you're looking for some fun ideas to occupy your kids, check out how to celebrate a traditional Scottish Hogmanay from Disney Pixar's BRAVE (read my review of the movie here).

Scots encourage good luck to come through their door on the last night of the year by cleaning up around the house, hanging charms in doorways, and singing "Auld Lang Syne" from Scottish poet Robert Burns.

I think my favorite idea is getting my kids to clean up around the house, how about you?  (Maybe a little bribery will motivate them to lend a hand.)

You'll find some more ideas below.  Not only are they fun, but your kids will learn more about another culture's New Year traditions.

Happy New Year to all of my readers!  Wishing you health, happiness, and God's blessings in 2013!
