My daughter started cutting teeth later than some babies. When she finally did, she didn't just get one at a time. She got two or three at a time, which made her absolutely miserable.
She gets very irritable when a tooth is coming in. The tell tale signs are drooling and putting her whole hand in her mouth. We've found teeth marks on her hand several times. She also will bite on her sleeves. I have tried various teething rings with different textures and wash cloths or loveys, but she usually ends up biting her hand.
I thought the Nuby Coolbite Fun Pal Teether looked like it might interest her, since it has a cute little plush attached. It also has purICE that is supposed to stay colder longer than water filled teethers.
This little guy is cute. The Attic Baby hugged him and kissed him right away. But she didn't put him in her mouth. She carried him around like she does her other stuffies (stuffed animals) and talked to him.
It took her little bit for her to discover that she could chew on it. But once she figured it out, she used "Gator" quite often. Though she didn't really like it cold like I thought she would.
This teether has a hard main piece (seen in blue) with nubby arms and legs and a nubby bottom piece that contains the purICE. She likes the nubby end piece the best on her swollen gums. I like that this teether also functions as a fun little toy. It can be wiped down with a damp soapy cloth(if you throw it in the sink, it takes longer for the plush to dry). It is a great comfort item when she suffers from teething pain.
This is recommended for ages 3 months+. You can find the Nuby Coolbite Fun Pal Teether at various retailers for $8.99.
