This year, I signed up two kids for summer reading. I have signed my son up since he was little. We love the program; there are some great rewards including restaurant coupons and baseball tickets. And for my little bitty, she is working towards earning a cute rubber duck too.
Our latest trip was a play date with my friend's little boy to the baby program. (He is only four months younger than little miss though you can't really tell when looking at him!)
The library programs are free and lots of fun. Great for a family on a budget!
This was our first visit to the baby program that is held once a month. It was a pretty big group and ranged in age from newborn to 23 months. When we arrived, we saw fun mats to sit on and beach balls!

We can't wait to go back and play with new friends! Do you sign your kids up for the library's summer reading program? Have they been to any fun events?

ReplyDeleteThis looks like so much fun! I want to take my son to our library program but I am nervous!
ReplyDeleteThat looks so fun and the kids are so adorable. I've never taken my kids to the library. I might have to do that soon.
ReplyDeleteOur library does a weekly storytime, and I am going to start taking our son this week. He isn't around children his age much so hopefully this will be good for him!
ReplyDeleteHow funny, Shelly. I have a post scheduled tomorrow - "Free Summer Events for Kids" all about my public library. I didn't realize that other library's were as cool as mine ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing. The kid are cute! Enjoy the new week!
Such a cutie Pie! I will have to see if our library has events too! Thanks for the post
ReplyDeleteThis looks like fun!! Your kids are adorable!!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait until our summer library program starts up again! My son loves it!
ReplyDeleteI love our Summer Reading Program! Wednesdays in June, they have "entertainment" come out after they read a book and color a page. They had Captain Hook and Tinkerbell, then an entomologist show them bugs, and last week they had a magician do tricks. This week it's the Grand Finale, and we'll have a big to-do at the main park in town. :)
ReplyDeleteLooks like your kids enjoy it as much as mine do!
Sweet fun! We have five sons and many treasured memories of summer reading library programs (one son once won tickets to a robotic dinosaur exhibit...way cool). Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteHi Shelly,
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad that your library has such a fun Summer reading program. Our library has a really fun program for the kids, teens and adults. On Thursday I am so glad I don't have to work because they are having the reptile man come. The kids will love it though.
I love your new blog design. Very cute!

One more comment. Mariah, I just read your comment. The kids librarians would love to have you and your son participate. I work in a library and they would absolutely love it. :)
ReplyDeleteWe love the library too. It looks like they had a blast!
ReplyDeletebeach balls are fun for all ages, we haven't had any around here in ages though, they always seem to deflate. on my summer bucket list now though! thanks for linking up with our virtual playdate!
ReplyDeleteYes! LOVE the local library. Even when they don't have structured events going on it's such a great place to bring the kids. (And I think often overlooked, which is why I love that you wrote about it :)
