I just participated in my very first blogging challenge! Whew! (wiping sweat off my brow) That was quite the mental work out. I feel like I should be like Rocky and do a fist pump up some art gallery stairs.
I've seen other blogging challenges and shied away from them. There are lots of wonderful and witty bloggers out there. It's hard to get noticed as a little fish swimming in a sea of blog awesomeness.

But then I found the Tots2Tweens Blog Awesome Challenge. I knew that it was something out of my comfort zone, having never participated in a challenge. It seemed a bit intimidating to analyze myself as a blogger, but I knew that I had to join.
For one, the name Tots2Tweens intrigued me. Because I'm the mama of a tot and a tween right now. And I am always in search of activities in the area to entertain them both. But Tots2Tweens is more than just a website directory of activities and businesses. It's a community of people that seek to share with each other and learn from each other. And that appeals to me both as a mom and as a blogger.
For two, I have been wanting to flex my bloggy muscles with the SITSGirls ever since I happened upon their site. I would love the opportunity to attend Bloggy Boot Camp and soak up all that bloggy knowledge. It would be my very first blog conference. And my first time speaking in person with other bloggers. I've heard so many stories about how fun and informative these conferences are that I've been drooling over it for some time now.
Add to that the amazing opportunity to intern with Tots2Tweens and I am ready to take up the torch and run with it! (did you just hear "Eye of the Tiger" in your head, because I just did)

The Blog Awesome Challenge discussed how to start a blog, how to get good blog content, and how to use social media to grow your blog. Since I've been blogging for a little while, some of these tips reinforced things I've already been doing. But other tips were very helpful and got me thinking about how I write. I definitely need to plan ahead (which can be difficult as a busy mom) and plan more purposefully when writing. I have so much to learn about key words and SEO (search engine optimization) and all the other technical aspects of blogging. This challenge has definitely been an eye-0pener! It left me wanting more.
So, what can this mama do for Tots2Tweens at Bloggy Boot Camp?
Although I am new to blog conferences, I am quick on my feet and a fast learner. I will share the site's information with as many people as possible while I am there (in whatever manner is acceptable at the conference). I will also try to borrow a great techno gadget to tweet and facebook tips I'm learning from the speakers (what an awesome line-up of bloggers!). Yes, I am one of those "old-school" moms who does not have a smart phone, a tablet, or a kindle device. But I have connections so I will most definitely bribe a friend to lend me one! And when I return, I will share all of the blog awesomeness I have learned here with my readers. Who knows, I might even go crazy and do my very first V-Log! (now that's a scary thought!)
Hold onto your yoga pants ladies. This mama is ready to work it out for Tots2Tweens at Bloggy Boot Camp in Philly! (queue the music)
Think I can do it? Let the blog awesome leaders at Tots2Tweens know by leaving me some comment love.
Disclosure: This post was written as part of the Tots2Tweens Blog Awesome Challenge. Should I be selected as the winner I will receive a conference pass to Bloggy Boot Camp Philly as well as other monetary compensation. All opinions are my own.
