Aloha Friday: Injuries

blogging meme

Here is how Aloha Friday works from Kailani's blog An Island Life:

In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.

So far in my 35 years of life, I have not broken anything.  Thankfully, the MRI I had did not show any hidden fractures in my foot.  I am suffering from a torn ligament and a sprain that is taking a while to heal.  The doctor is sending me to physical therapy because of all the swelling in my foot.  I think this is the worst injury I've had.  After a month of being stuck in the house and unable to do a whole lot (other than taking care of my kids and trying to do daily tasks like laundry, dishes etc), I am going stir crazy.

My Question This Week:

What is/was your worst injury?

  1. A broken heart that's taken years to mend.

  2. Never had a brake until my 50's .I broke my foot at 50 and my arm at 54. really never want to break anything ever again. the arm was the worst!

  3. I broke my ankle when I was younger and had to have surgery to fix it.

  4. when I stepped wrong and fell down the stairs at school... had to walk to class and tried to take my final with a broken foot.

  5. I've never broken anything or had any serious injuries *knock-on-wood*. When I was little, I stepped on a rusty nail that went right into my foot...ouch!

  6. I had a broken foot when I was a child. It took awhile to heal.

I hope soon you'll be better.

  7. I broke 2 different toes...at different times.
    Here's Mine

  8. I would say my back injury that laid me up in bed for 6 months. It was awful.

  9. I had a back injury on the job and now have a bulging disc.

    Have a great weekend!

  10. When I was a kid about 8 or 9. I was riding my two-wheel bike in my bare feet DOWNHILL when one foot slipped off the pedal and right into the front spokes. I was lucky not to have my toes sheared off. I have high arches so the front pad took the worst of it and was layed open with the bone exposed. Back then in the early 70's, we didn't go to the doctor. Mom just got a tub, filled it with warm salty water and made me soak my foot every night until it healed. To this day, I have NO SCAR and I can't tell which foot it was.

  11. I was lucky that in spite of being a tomboy and rough housing with my brother, I've never had a major break. I did shatter my big toe in 1998, though, when I dropped a large clay pot full of marble rocks smack dab on my big toe. A few years ago I missed a step on our stairs when I was carrying our puppy down to take him outside - I caught myself before taking a major nosedive, but my foot caught on one of the steps on my way down and I broke it (opposite foot from the broken toe). :)

  12. I have not really had any serious injuries (knock wood) but I've made up for that by becoming chronically ill and having to have a ton of surgeries -- bah!

  14. When I was about 8 years old I was bitten by a dog on my face. I had to get 5 stitches and the scar is still there.

  15. Luckily don't remember much about it - but when I was 3 years old I fell down my cellar stairs. I bit my tongue so hard - it was split & I had to get stitches in my tongue! Yuck.
