I am not a good plant keeper. I received this at Mother's Day and it amazingly is still alive! (If you know me, you know what an accomplishment this is!)

Yay! I totally know how you feel. When my step father passed, I would get a basil plant (his favorite) at the beginning of each summer and try to keep it alive like he used to, and the first year, it died quickly. The second year, it was thriving but a bunch of tiny bugs got a hold of it and I had to let it die :( and then last year I tried again, and success! I was so proud, I was able to grow the basil plant out so that it was bushy, and I was clipping the leaves and have some dried basil set aside. That has been the longest I kept it, and when the winter hit, it got too cold outside and too hot inside, so it died. I guess I'll be attempting it again this year! :D
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting this! It reminded me of him, and I love being reminded. <3

Haha, congrats on keeping it alive for a week and a half. ;p I don't generally keep plants in the house for that reason- I plant them outside where they tend to do better. lol Thanks for visiting my blog today... Happy Wednesday! :)
ReplyDeleteIt's hanging in there! :)
ReplyDeleteIt's a gerber daisy, if you have a yard you can plant it outside, too :) Depending on where you are, it might come back year after year. I love to garden! Happy Wednesday!
ReplyDeleteThe flower/plant looks like it's doing great! WooHoo! :) I tend to kill off house plants but can grow outdoor plants like nobody's business. Probably because Mother Nature picks up the slack and waters them for me when I forget... ;)
