Aloha Friday: New Year's Edition

1/1/10
writing prompts, blogging prompts

Here is how Aloha Friday works from Kailani's blog An Island Life:

In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.

It's New Year's Day 2010! I'd like to wish everyone a Happy New Year and hope that 2010 will bring wonderful surprises.

I've heard some debate about how to pronounce the new year. I think I like saying "Twenty Ten" more than "Two Thousand and Ten." It's quicker and just sounds better to me.

My Question This Week: How are you going to pronounce the new year? Twenty-ten? Or Two Thousand and Ten?

  3. Haha! I was going to make this my question because we all had a debate last night about it! I say twenty ten. My hubby can't stand that in car world (he runs an autobody) the dealerships are saying 'oh ten' um so wrong!

Ps I'm hoping for a baby too!

  4. I was wondering about that myself - I've been told the official way is twenty-ten now that you're out of the aughts (or naughts...)

  8. I really want to pronounce it two-thousand-ten, but I know everyone else will say twenty-ten so I'll probably conform.

  9. Twenty ten seems to be shorter to say. Yep, I believe that's the correct way. I'm your newest follower. Hope you can find time to follow me.
