Aloha Friday: Black Friday

11/20/09
writing prompts, blogging prompts

Here is how Aloha Friday works from Kailani's blog An Island Life:

In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.

I am NOT a morning person. Anyone who knows me knows this very well. I don't function until I get some caffeine in me. I think it's crazy to get up early in the morning. I remember several years ago the Black Friday madness of waking up at 3 AM to get in line at the toy store for those super deals. Waiting in line for 2 hours in the cold. Madly dashing into the store and hoping I didn't get knocked into. Hurrying to pick out the items I need only to end up stuck in a line that never moved. Feeling exhausted after 5 hours just to see the smile on my son's face at Christmas.

I haven't done that in a long time.

My Question For You This Week Is: What are you doing on Black Friday? Are you one of those early morning shoppers or do you stay at home?

  1. Sleeping in and going to Starbucks with my hubby. #1 priority is to stay away from any mall, Target, or other retail store.

  2. Last year, I was pregnant and very sick but my husband went out. I don't have any plans to go out this year but he may if there is something we *need*. I am not a morning or crowds person so it isn't a good thing for me to be out during those sales.

  3. I used to do Black Fri mornings a couple years ago and got some GREAT savings! But the last 3 yrs I've done almost ALL my shopping online. And I've found that Online BF deals are AMAZING! Check out amazon, OMG, I did 80% of my shopping and saved a TON there last year!

  10. I've gone out the last 3 years but this year I don't think I will. I would love a laptop from Best Buy, but I'm NOT spending the night outside for it!
