Top Ten Thursday: My Bucket List

blogging memes

I usually try to focus on today or maybe what's going on tomorrow, but not the future, because that usually gets me anxious. I mean, who wants to worry about every possibility when today is enough to handle?

That reminds me of Matt. 6:34:

Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

However, I was reading Jennifer's blog It's a Beauty Filled Life and she got me thinking. What are my top things to do before I "kick the bucket"?

It's good to have goals, right? So here is my list of 10 things I'd like to do (but not necessarily in this order):

1. Have a baby-I remarried 3 yrs ago and I think it would be nice to have a baby together. My hubby is already an awesome step-dad to my son! I would love to have a little girl that I could play dress up with and share all of my favorite "girly" things with. My son just won't go for wearing a tutu or watching Tinker Bell The Movie with me.

2. Write a novel-I have all kinds of ideas that pop into my head. I just never seem to have the time or motivation to sit and write them down.

3. Travel to England-I have always wanted to do this since I was about 12. I fell in love with British literature and ever since I have wanted to visit. I would definitely want to visit the sites in Jane Austen's novels and places that she roamed. I would also like to see other writers' homes like Shakespeare, Dickens, and the Bronte Sisters. There are many more but that would take too long to list!

4. Bring my son to Disney World-He's 10 and has never been. I think he would love it!

5. Get a pug-I love pug faces! They are just so cute and I would love to have a dog that would sit on my lap and cuddle with me. Our beagle/basset mix Oreo is totally a daddy's girl and is too big to sit in my lap.

6. Visit Ireland-My dad's side of the family is Irish. My paternal grandma used to sing "When Irish Eyes are Smiling" when we visited her at the nursing home. I think it would be neat to visit and find out more about my heritage. After all, I am part Irish and born on St. Patty's Day to boot!

7. Live in a colder area-I miss New England! I grew up in NH and loved the fall colors, cooler temps, less humidity and all of the snow. Fall & winter are my favorite seasons and I would like to live some place colder some day.

8. Go boating-When I was growing up, we used to go boating or canoeing along the Merrimack River. My dad even took me deep sea fishing in Maine. He showed me how to drive a boat and I loved it! I haven't been on a boat in a long time.

9. Ride on a Wave Runner- I have never tried that but they look like so much fun!

10. Go snow skiing-I haven't been on skis since I was 15. I loved downhill skiing!

So, what's your list? You can find the co-hosts of this fun meme at It's a Beauty Filled Life, Domestically Challenged, My Messy Paradise and In The Mommy Trenches.

  1. That is such a doable list!! I wouldn't even know what to do, I would have to think about that pretty hard.

  2. Oh I like this idea! My husband is from England and grew up in Stratford-on-Avon and actually went to Shakespeare's school! And his house is really neat! Stratford itself is pretty neat too...and Anne Hathaway's cottage is wonderful! I also went to the Bronte Sister's home...very cool! Oh you'll love England :)

  3. I am so with you on #7! Though, after living in Las Vegas, everywhere else will be colder, don't you think? LOL!

  4. That was really nice, and really well-rounded! I guess it is time to start a new bucket list. All of my old bucket list items (or some of them at least) are all filled now!

  5. I love your list. We do definitely have things in common our our lists. I also noted in your profile your top favourite movies.. and I love all of those two right down to the LOTR trilogy.

    Very Cool!+

  6. I'm so with you on #3...would love to go there!
So NOT with you on 6. I live in MA and want to get out of dodge...I need warmth!

  7. A beautiful list indeed! Taking your son to DisneyWorld sounds GREAT!

But then......so does having another baby!!!!!!

Well wishes and may all your
    list-things come true!
