Here is how Aloha Friday works from Kailani's blog An Island Life:

In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.

I have been feeling the effects of allergies all week. It feels like a brick has been stuck to my head. I woke up this morning feeling hot, achy, and just plain devoid of energy. So I'm not sure if I have caught a cold, a virus, or a combination of things. I just took a two hour nap and am now trying to get some work done. I have to pick up my son from school in about 3 hours so I am trying not to give in to the temptation to cuddle up with a blanket on the couch and become a t.v. zombie.

My Question for the Week: What do you do when you are sick to feel better?

  1. Rest is the only thing that works for me.....but that's hard with a little one. Fortunately I've only been really sick once since she was born.

  3. drink applejuice and i havne't been able to for 5 mo. because of GD so i'm really looking forward to drinking it on tues. :)
    sorry go take another nap. I woke with a sore throat i hope it leaves soon, dont want to be in labor and sick.

  4. Sleep, but when I'm not sleeping I like a hot bowl of soup and a I like to swaddle myself in a blanket on the couch with the fire place lit and watch movies. That's of course if I just ahve a cold or fever and not like on my death bed sick.

    When I'm sick I like a nice hot shower. That is, when I'm not in bed taking in chick flicks.

  6. I try to get lots of rest. I take my vitamins/mineral supplements daily and drink lots of water!

  7. I'm a big believer in Airborne or similiar knock offs (buy whatever is cheapest). In addition, diet coke and a snickers bar always bring me comfort :)

  8. Rest, extra fluids, and more rest!

  9. Sleep works best. But when it is allergies, I use Zyrtec. I started taking it about 2 months ago and it is amazing (be warned it makes you drowsy for about a week).

  10. I'm all for medicine, but aside from that, taking a shower, getting dressed and doing my hair work wonders for me. I feel worse when I'm just moping around.
    Oh, and lots of tea!

  11. Soup, crackers, juice, sleep, and PJs! LOL!
