Love Comes Softly Series

I read the Love Comes Softly Series by Janette Oke when I was in high school. It is a great series that tells the stories of several generations in a family who were pioneers in the Canadian west. The books in the series are: Love Comes Softly, Love's Enduring Promise, Love's Long Journey, Love's Abiding Joy, Love's Unending Legacy, Love's Unfolding Dream, Love Takes Wing, and Love Finds a Home.

The first book, Love Comes Softly, tells the story of Marty Claridge who moves out to the west as a newlywed only to find that her husband Aaron dies from a sudden accident and she is alone. A widower named Clark Davis offers to marry her and give her a place to stay and with the the option of leaving when winter is over. In exchange, he asks Marty to be a mothering influence for his daughter Missie.

I don't want to spoil this book for you, so I won't give anymore details. But it is a wonderful story of God's provision through tough circumstances and is an incredible love story.

These books have been made into movies by the Hallmark Channel. They are directed by Michael Landon Jr., whose dad did the Little House on the Prairie Tv. Series. I absolutely loved the Little House on the Prairie show growing up and am not surprised that I now love this movie series!

The latest movie to release is coming up on the Hallmark Channel on April 4th called Love Takes Wing. Here is a preview:

I am excited to see this new installment of the series! If you want to learn more about Janette Oke's books, click on the Janette Oke web site. To find out more about the Hallmark movies, go to hallmarkchannel.com
