About Me

parenting, Maryland blog, book reviews, giveaways

Hello, and Welcome!  I'm Shelly, and I'm the voice behind The Attic Girl.  I'm a Pennsylvania mama of three;  a teen son, a preschool daughter, a baby girl and 1 angel baby who are the joys of my life.

I worked as a third grade teacher for ten years at a private school before becoming a stay at home mom.

I am also a book junkie.  Although I haven't had as much time to read recently because my days have been filled with lots of diaper changes, preschool energy, and dealing with my toddler's peanut and egg allergies.

I started blogging to feed my book habit. But it has since grown into more of a mom and parenting focused blog.  I love to write about great reads, my family's adventures, things to do in the Maryland/DC Metro area, the ups and downs of parenting, and mom finds that I love and want to share with others.  I recently moved to PA from Maryland so I'll be sharing our new adventures in the area.

And sometimes, I'm just totally random. Kinda like the things you find in your attic.

You Can Find Me:

When I'm not taking photos of my children and blogging about them, you'll find me chatting on Facebook or Twitter.   Or I'm surfing the boards and busy pinning away on Pinterest.

Stop by and say hello; I love chatting with new friends and getting new ideas and tips from other moms!

I hope you'll grab your favorite beverage (mine is Mountain Dew), put up your feet, and rummage through my attic.   Hopefully you'll find something to add to your reading list, a new movie to check out, or can commiserate with some of the crazy things that happen in this mom's life.
