Go #BacktoSchool with Peppa Pig @fheinsiders #PeppaPacks #PeppaPigDVD #sponsored

We received a Peppa Pig Sunny Vacation DVD and party items as a Fox Insider.  All opinions and love for Peppa Pig are ours.

It's time for one last Sunny Vacation with Peppa Pig before school starts!  To celebrate the DVD release, Fox sent over some fun goodies for us to have a Peppasodes screening & pack up for school party.

This is timely for us as my oldest will be heading over to Kindergarten in a few weeks!  {Can you believe it?!}

We started off our Peppa celebration with a fun Peppa Pig Alphabet Scavenger Hunt at our local park.

Alphabet scavenger hunt PrintableI printed a free Alphabet Scavenger Hunt worksheet from theresourcefulmama.com.
This uses letter identification, sound recognition, and critical thinking skills.  The check list is easy for my 5 year old to do all by herself (I wrote the words that we found for each letter to remember them later).

We also made these Peppa Pig masks from nickjr.com to take with us. This is great for practicing cutting skills (with some help from a parent).

How to make a Peppa Pig mask:

Peppa Pig Mask1.  Print and cut out the templates
Peppa Pig Mask2.  Attach to pink construction paper
3.  Cut around the template carefully
4.  Poke holes in the eyes and then cut around the eye holes
5.  Attach a popsicle or craft stick with glue or tape on the back
6.  Use a pink crayon to draw on the nose and cheek

The girls had fun pretending to be Peppa going on a scavenger hunt (although my 2 year old didn't want a picture with hers).

We found a lot of letters like W for water, P for Playground, D for dinosaur, T for tall trees, and S for sliding with Peppa & George!

It was a hot day at the park so we headed home to cool off.  At dinner, we used these fun Peppa Pig divided plates to eat fruits, pasta and veggies.   They are great for making sure food doesn't touch (which is a must with my 5 year old) and are portable for school lunches or even a picnic.

Then we all sat down to watch Peppa Pig Sunny Vacation.

kids animated series

It’s time for a special Family Holiday! Celebrate the summer as we come along with Peppa, George, Mummy Pig and Daddy Pig on a Sunny Vacation abroad. Peppa is enjoying all of the ts and sounds of Italy, but she also can’t wait to go home and see her friends! “Peppa Pig’s Sunny Vacation” on DVD is packed with excitement as Peppa and her family set off on their trip across Italy. Kids and parents alike will love the four-part sunny special with 8 additional super fun-filled Peppasodes!

The girls enjoyed coloring in their Peppa Pig tote-books while watching Peppa, George, Mummy Pig & Daddy Pig on their vacation.  This mom could totally relate to Mummy Pig's packing problems!  The girls loved every adorable episode.

Back to School Tips:

1.  Leave your backpack by the door the night before.

2.  Pack up your child's lunch at night so mornings aren't so rushed.

3.  Freeze a yogurt tube or juice box to use as an ice pack in your child's lunch.  It'll defrost by lunch time and will keep other items cool.

4.  Use a closet organizer for days of the week.  Have your kids pick out their clothes for each day and put in the slots over the weekend.  This will hopefully be a time saver in the mornings.

5.  Start the back-to-school sleep routine a couple weeks before school starts.  Set a consistent bed time and an alarm for mornings.  This will make the transition a little easier.

My favorite back to school tip is to mark everything with your child's first and last name. You can buy stick on pre-printed name labels to help with this. Especially mark backpacks, coats, hats, and gloves!

My best tip is be prepared and if start the week before getting your kids ready for school schedule. So they are used to it by the first day.

plan school lunches, meals and snacks for the whole week. Then you wont be tempted to stop for fast food and everyone will work together to make the year go okay
