Eddie the Eagle Bluray

I enjoy watching movies that are true stories about people who are determined and inspiring.  And with the Olympics coming up, Eddie The Eagle releasing on Blu-ray June 14th, is timely.  I have heard a lot of buzz about this movie and am eager to watch it!

Taron Egerton co-stars alongside ACADEMY AWARD® Nominee Hugh Jackman* in this high-flying, feel-good story inspired by true events. Egerton plays Eddie The Eagle Edwards, an unlikely but courageous British ski-jumper who never stopped believing in himself even as an entire nation was counting him out. With the help of a rebellious and charismatic coach (Jackman), the lovable underdog wins the hearts of fans around the world by making an unforgettable showing at the 1988 Calgary Winter Olympics.

I think I was about 12 during the Calgary Winter Olympics and watched a lot of figure skating.  I may have watched some of the ski jumping as well but I don't remember.    I have always been amazed by the strength and determination of the athletes as they compete.  And though I have always stood by team USA, I love how we can get behind all of the athletes and cheer on the underdogs as well.  The Olympics is a chance for everyone to shine and support each other.

Summer Olympics it's swimming and gymnastics. Winter Olympics it's skiing, Snowboarding...

I remember when Sean White won. He took that third run purely for the joy of it and it was perfect. Watching someone do something so beautiful and so inspiring.

I do seem to like the winter Olympics more than the Summer ones. I like following the bobsledding a lot, it looks like so much fun-

I like the pairs ice skating.

What I like about this movie is that it has a very unlikely hero who worked hard for years to finally achieve his dreams.
