Can you believe the summer is nearly coming to a close? It's hard to believe that August is already here. We've hit that point where the kids are restless (especially my teenager) and looking for something exciting and fun to do before thinking about heading back to school.
August is usually the hottest month so we are looking for ways to beat the heat and keep the kiddos happy. One of the closest amusement parks for families to visit in the area is Six Flags America DC/Maryland.
Located in Mitchelville, Maryland, Six Flags America is only about a half hour's drive from Annapolis and an hour from Baltimore.
We have been season pass members in the past and enjoyed cooling off at Hurricane Harbor. They have one of the largest wave pools, a lazy river, and a variety of fun water rides. We love the "baby pool" areas and am excited that the Attic Baby is old enough to enjoy it!
One of the new features my son is looking forward to checking out is the Bonzai Pipelines: 6 water slides that drop you falling through 250 feet of clear tubing into pitch darkness!
I'm pretty much the only one who is into roller coasters in the family (though I am not brave enough for the upside down twists). I know the Attic Teen wants to check out the thrill rides at some point during our visit.
It's been a while since we have been in the park, so we're looking forward to seeing what's new and visiting some of our old favorites in the "kiddie" section like Looney Tunes movie town. There is definitely something for every age group at Six Flags America DC/Maryland.
