It’s a summer of change for Jennifer O’Malley.
The busy physician has a pediatrics practice in Dallas, Texas, and meeting and falling in love with
surgeon Tom Peterson is adding a rich layer to her life. She’s sorting out how to introduce Tom to her
family—she’s the youngest of seven—and thinking about marriage.
She’s falling in love with Jesus too, and knows God is good. But that faith is about to be tested, and
in a way she didn’t expect. The results will soon transform her entire family.

My Review/Thoughts

I have read every book that Dee Henderson has written.  I devoured them when I discovered the O'Malley series while browsing at a bookstore years ago.  She hooked me with her writing style and I couldn't put her books down.

I was thrilled to hear that Dee is writing again after a long absence and loved her last FBI book Full Disclosure.  When I heard she was writing about the O'Malleys again, I knew I had to read it!

Jennifer allows the reader to get inside the youngest O'Malley's head.  While this book is not as lengthy or as detailed as previous books in the O'Malley series, it gives insight into how Jennifer & Tom's love story began.

I could relate to Jennifer's keeping people at arm's length and not trusting them quickly.  She doesn't let people into her heart as easily as others might.  She and Tom are good friends before they become something more.   I really liked that!  It reminded me of my relationship with my husband.

I loved reading how Jennifer treated the children who were her patients at the hospital.  She is a very dynamic character and feels like someone you would really want to have in your corner.

The book also delves into how Jennifer becomes a Christian.  I found it to be very straight forward but almost a bit preachy in some spots.  All together, the book was a bit too short and I was left wanting more.  It made me wonder if there will be any more stories about the O'Malleys.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book; though it didn't have a lot of exciting plot line like some of her other stories.   I am definitely looking forward to the October release of Unspoken!

Ahhh, there's something so comforting about a love story - even when things get bad you always know it will end well. If only life could be like that!

Thanks for the book recommendation, I think I might just check this one out.
