Welcome to the Ultimate Blog Party 2013 #UBP13

Ultimate Blog Party 2013

WELCOME!

Can you believe it's that time of year again?  {Boy, this snuck up on me fast} It's the Ultimate Blog Party 2013 from Five Minutes for Mom.  Time to get your party on with other bloggers and make some new friends!

Not sure what it's all about?  Well, the ladies at Five Minutes for Mom throw this huge blog party every year where you can link up your blog to a list and follow each other.  You can also link up your Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest pages.  It's a great way to gain new followers, find some new blogs to read, and enter to win some awesome prizes to boot!  They'll also be hosting a Twitter Party and a live Google Plus Hangout you won't want to miss!

If you're a new visitor, welcome to my little piece of the blogosphere.

Merry Christmas!  Happy April Fool's!  Um, yea.  Nothing like a party without a Christmas tree.  {No, my tree is not still up though I have been known to leave it up til March or so now and then} This was the most recent picture I found of myself that I actually liked.    My son took it {thanks kiddo!}.   Anyway...I like to keep things short and simple so...

I'm Shelly, The Attic Girl

I'm a former third grade teacher, Mountain Dew addict, Jane Austen fan, and an all around book nerd.

I hope you'll rummage around my attic.  You'll find stories about my life as a stay-at-home mom of a toddler and a teenager {yep, a bit of an age gap but sometimes God's plans are better than our own}.  Plus, you'll find a great hodge podge of Maryland attractions,  books, movies, giveaways and products that make life a little easier and more entertaining.

Some of my recent posts:

A Night at the Circus in Baltimore

In Like a Lamb, Out Like a Lion

Let's Connect

When I have free time {and I'm not watching Downton Abbey or Call The Midwife} I'm usually trolling Facebook, Twitter, or surfing practically everyone's obsession, Pinterest.

Feel free to follow me at any of those links and I'll return the favor!

What's a party without a fun door prize?  Stop by and enter to win this amazing Talking Ginger giveaway worth nearly $150:

I love meeting new friends so feel free to leave your link below so I can pop by your site.  Oh, and please leave me a comment too.  A blogger without comments on a party post is just...sad.

Happy partying!

I am a book nerd, too! :) And a former teacher (8th grade). I had to get the husband to take a pic of me last night -- woke him up to do it... I couldn't even find a picture from the past year!

Happy partying!

What is call the midwife? Is that all about home births or something? Never heard of it before.

Nice to meet you all! This is Kerrie in Kansas City from The Kerrie Show. Can't stay long ... gotta toss 3 kids in the car to pick up 2 more and head back to our chaotic life! I'll be checking you all out! (that sounds wrong!)

Thanks everyone! I love finding so many great blogs to read. Nolie, Call The Midwife is a PBS show that is about midwives in the 1950's; pretty fascinating show. I love watching British dramas.

Hey, nice to meet you! Thanks for dropping by my blog. Did you get Tricia's book for Christmas or are you part of her launch team? I loved reading Glacier Bay because I went there on my honeymoon. :)

I’ve never heard of the Ultimate Blog Party so I’m glad to be here! I’m gonna pop around your blog a bit and find what I find. I am currently in two blogging challenges, which run at the same time every year, and I love them both. One is the AtoZ blogging challenge and the other is the Ultimate Blog Challenge (similar names, huh?). Pop by anytime - I am about to reorganize, so don’t mind if you find any dust. Hi Shelly - I love that you brought christmas to the party, your picture solidifies your hodge podgeyness so it totally fits. I also like to do the Dew when I'm not drinking coffee.

Hey, you followed me on Pinterest via UBP13 and I see we have a lot in common! Except for the Mt. Dew part... that stuff is nasty! ;)

I like to say I'm a teacher in my "former life", but someday I will get back to it!

Hi I'm Karissa from A Fresh Start On A Busget. I got into Blogging last year and then took some time off, now I'm back and looking to get back into things. Meet new bloggers, learn some things. I hadn't heard of the Ultimate Blog Party so I'm glad to have found this. I love Downton Abbey as well.
