SAFESKIN Kids Antibacterial Gel Giveaway

As a mom of a toddler and a teenager, I have seen my share of "boo boos".  My kids have had many bumps and scrapes over the years (I spent several years as a soccer mom with my oldest).  I learned from experience to always carry a little Boo Boo / First Aid Kit with me in my purse or diaper bag just in case.  It contains the usual bandaids and cleansing wipes and some sort of antibacterial ointment.
first aid, ointment, antibacterial

When I heard about SAFESKIN Kids antibacterial gel, I was very interested in finding out if it would be a good addition to my kit.  It offers a long lasting barrier from infections like MRSA on (uninfected) cuts and burns up to 48 hours provided the bandaged boo boo or owwie stays clean and dry.

Surprisingly, my kids have been playing outdoors and haven't had any incidents lately to test this out.  But my hubby injured his finger at work (which happens often in a warehouse working with saws and plastic) so we tried the gel on his wound.

We cleaned out his finger, patted with a paper towel, and added the gel.  It didn't sting or burn and it wasn't so greasy that the bandaid didn't stick well to his finger.  (These were the bandaids we had readily available which I'm sure his co-workers had a good chuckle over)  My hubby was happy to report that his finger was feeling better and there were no signs of infection.

antibacterial gel, first aid

We both like that you don't have to rip off the bandaid right away as long as it stays dry.  Which is definitely a big plus when it comes to kiddos; the less unhappiness the better!   And it's reassuring to know it is trusted by hospitals and is made right here in the USA by Kimberly-Clark, a company with 30 years of experience.

The SAFESKIN Kids gel is convenient for on-the-go protection or even at home.  It works well (for dads too) and is definitely a great addition to our Boo Boo Kit!

This is so important to have in case of burns, scrapes, etc.

I like that fact that it doesn't burn when applied. I think kids hate that in products for boo boos

sounds like a great product especially for kids for the non-stingy factor.

Well, I am sure my daughter would need this for cuts and scrapes, however, she doesn't get too upset by them and just doesn't want any attention for them, so I have to bathe her to get the cuts washed out.
