With all this summer heat, getting a toddler outside can sometimes be difficult. We go out early in the morning before the temps soar and the UV index becomes high. Most days we go out in the back yard, but sometimes we meet up for a play date at the park.
Thanks to Coppertone, I was sent this wonderful bag of goodies to share with friends. I brought the tote bag along with me for our play date.
We lathered up with our Coppertone foaming lotion, making sure we thoroughly covered sensitive areas like cheeks, nose, ears, and neck as well as any other exposed skin.
This particular morning we chose a park near the Chesapeake Bay. There was a nice breeze coming off the water, but it made it a bit windy for playing with our new beach ball.
The two of them did their best trying to keep up with the ball in the wind. My friend and I even got some exercise too; chasing after a beach ball can be a good mini-cardio for mom!
This little guy looks like a pro practicing his kicking skills. Watch out David Beckham!
(You'd think that after a fun play date like this, The Attic Baby would be good and tired. But she actually skipped her nap that day. A mom can try to wear out her little tot, but sometimes it doesn't always work out the way you expect.)
This beach ball was a great hit on our play date. Our munchkins were able to get some exercise, practice some skills like kicking, rolling, throwing, and catching, and were protected from the hot summer sun.
How do you keep your toddler active during the summer heat?
