I Dreamed a Dream

Last night was just plain weird.  Little attic baby kept waking up every couple of hours throughout the night.  She wasn't hungry; just woke up and wanted to be held, reassured, and put back to sleep.  Which was a little unusual because she's been sleeping a good 7-8 hours some nights.

In between those moments of waking up, I had the strangest dreams.  I don't remember them all, but one in particular I do remember that I thought you might find amusing.

I dreamed that my hubby's folks told him that he was adopted.  And apparently, my mother had a child that she had given away when she was a teenager.  That child ended up being adopted by my hubby's parents.  You guessed it.  I married my brother and had a baby with him.

I guess the lack of sleep is getting to me.

Aloha Friday: The Bunny Hop

In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.



One of the ways I try to get my little one to sleep is by singing to her. I made up my own song to the tune of The Bunny Hop. It tends to work like a charm when she is cranky and tired.

My Question For You This Week: What do you do to help your child go to sleep? If you don't have kids, what helps you go to sleep?

Moms, Ever Feel Like the White Rabbit?

One of my favorite stories is Lewis Carol's Alice in Wonderland. And lately, I'm starting to feel like one of my favorite characters. You guessed it, The White Rabbit.

Why do I feel like this?

Throughout my day, I have a list of tasks to complete. I try to arrange my day, but I'm pretty much at the mercy of my baby girl's schedule. And my son's school schedule.

Often times I find myself running around saying "No time to say hello, goodbye...I'm late, I'm late, I'm late!"

Juggling all of the mommy tasks I have to do can sometimes feel overwhelming. I wish I could be more like the Mad Hatter some days. I'd like to leisurely enjoy some tea (metaphorically speaking, I prefer Mountain Dew to tea) without any regard for time. I'd like to be silly and crazy and let my hair down (or actually wash and comb it more than every other day).

Boogie Wipes Review & Giveaway (Closed)

Have you heard all the buzz online about Boogie Wipes? I have seen them on various blogs and mom sites and when I had my little "booger", I knew I had to check them out.

What are boogie wipes?

These were created by two moms, Mindee Doney and Julie Pickens,  who wanted a solution for their kids' sore and runny noses. I love the fact that these come from Mompreneurs!

And I love these wipes too! I received the unscented in full size and individual travel size packets of the grape and mint scented. They felt soft and gentle enough for my baby's newborn nose. I didn't see any crusties left behind like can sometimes happen with regular tissues. And the scented ones aren't too overpowering;  although I do prefer the unscented.  The travel size are so handy to keep in your purse or diaper bag for those "snotty" moments.

I also tried the new adult version of Boogie Wipes Achooz.  As someone who suffers from seasonal allergies, these are great!  My nose doesn't feel as raw as it has after multiple uses of regular tissues.

Their current promotion is Save The Sleeve, a fun and interactive way for kids to learn to put their boogies in a boogie wipe and not on their sleeves. There are games, stories, and deliciously gross factoids for your kids!

Last night, I got about 4 hours of sleep. Little ladybug woke me up at 3 AM to eat, which isn't unusual, but she decided she didn't want to go back to sleep. I am very tired!

Warner Brothers Yogi Bear DVD Release and Giveaway (Closed)

I love salad! One of my favorite things to add to my salad is cucumbers. I always wash and peel them before adding them to the salad.
