In this final week discussing the benefits of cereal, let's discuss how cereal impacts our breakfast choices.
Did You Know...
A recent study shows 77 percent of D.C. parents believe maintaining a healthy body weight is important to ensuring their child´s health.
When it comes to fighting childhood obesity, there is a lot to love about cereal. Frequent cereal eaters tend to have healthier body weights. That´s true of men, women and children who choose sweetened cereals.
Teen girls who eat cereal are less likely to become overweight than non cereal eaters.
Boys´ cereal consumption is associated with lower body mass index (BMI).

I usually feel somewhat guilty on "cereal mornings" when we're in a rush and I don't have time to crack an egg or even whip up some oatmeal. I didn't realize that some cereals actually have a lot of nutrients, so I'm feeling less guilty after reading this: "We've increased whole grain and fiber,
added vitamins and nutrients, and further reduced sugar and sodium in all Big G
cereals."

I just wanted to let u know that your followers don't show up on your blog
Unfortunately, this article didn't really change much about how I think about my kid's breakfast. It did reiterate how important it is to eat breakfast, but not necessarily a sugary cereal. I still think a breakfast like oatmeal, which is made up of complex carbohydrates is better for my child rather than cereals made from simple sugars. My thoughts have changed that these cereals aren't horrible for my child and its ok to have them when time is limited...I guess I could let my hubby have some too.

I thought the sweetened cereals would cause children to be obese, this is really surprising that the opposite is actually true.

My kids are all grown now, but we have always been big cereal eaters, and not just for breakfast. Having a small serving of carbohydrates and protein, shortly before going to bed, helps sleep.
Thanks so much for the giveaway.
