Not Me Monday: When It Rains....Get a Bucket!

It's that time again, when we confess to all the things we did not do this week.

Last week was not a difficult week. I did not find out on my wedding anniversary that my step-dad passed away after only finding out a few weeks ago that he was sick with cancer. I did not have to postpone our anniversary celebration. The next day for our anniversary "re-do", we did not wake up to find that our fridge stopped working and that all of our food in the fridge and freezer was spoiled. We did not lose over $100 in groceries and get frustrated because the funds were lacking to replace most of it. We did not have to use our anniversary gift ($$) to pay for the fridge repairs or spend all day waiting around for the repairman who ended up being an hour over the designated 4-5 hour window only to spend FIVE minutes replacing a tiny part.

We did not have to reschedule our "re-do" celebration. I did not spend a lot of time feeling just a bit sorry for myself. Nope, not me!

I didn't miss my munchkin who I haven't seen in 9 days. I did not think about the nice weather we had for the pool or how we could have been doing this or that. But I did hope he was enjoying his visit with relatives. And I do look forward to seeing him when he comes home!

And I did not realize that even though things can be difficult, sad, and frustrating, God was there holding my hand and getting me through it. I can choose to look at the things that are not going right, or I can choose to look at the things that are going right and be thankful for them. I am thankful for a loving, caring husband who has been (and continues to be) my best friend these past 3 years. I am thankful for a wonderful 10 year old boy who gives my life so much joy. And I am thankful for every minute that we can spend together in our beautiful home. Yes, I am!

Oh man, that stinks. Sounds like the kind of weeks I've been having lately.

Thanks for stopping by today! My oldest also starts middle school this year. I think our public schools here are junk (we haven't lived here long) so this fall we'll be filling out applications for the magnet schools.
